Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language, which were taught during the first – third years of study (I-V semesters): ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Lexicology. Phraseology. Lexicography’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Word formation’, ‘Modern Ukrainian Language. Morphology’, Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language’, ‘Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language’.

The purpose of the discipline is to develop linguistic, methodological, educational and lexicographical competence among foreign bachelors, which is an integral part of the general professional competence of future specialists. The course of the discipline ‘Educational Lexicography’ examines educational dictionaries of various types; the features of dictionary articles of lexicographic sources of educational type, the specifics of their content and structure are analyzed; the main components of a dictionary-type teaching aids are considered.

Lectures, practical classes, independent work; oral reply, participation in discussion, ongoing or independent written work, Modular Test Work (MTW); collecting and combining of information necessary to describe educational dictionary articles and dictionary-type teaching aids.

According to the evaluation criteria: participation in the discussion (from 1 to 30 points), evaluation criteria for collecting and / or combining information necessary for the description (from 1 to 30), articles in educational dictionaries and dictionary-type teaching aids (from 1 to 30), evaluation criteria for current tests (1-5), evaluation criteria for the MTW (from 1 to 10). The credit is awarded based on the student’s work throughout the semester and does not provide additional assessment measures for successful students.
