Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To make reasonable decisions in the law-making and law-enforcement fields of law, realizing their ethical consequences for different subjects of national and international commercial law. PLO 4. Demonstrate the ability to conduct cases in international judicial institutions and other general and special international institutions for the settlement of international disputes, protecting interests the state, individuals and legal entities. PLO 5. Demonstrate the ability to represent the client's interests in civil and commercial matters in the courts of Ukraine, arbitration courts, state bodies authorized to conduct commercial investigations. PLO 7. Determine the content and legal nature of national regulations, international treaties and other international instruments, identify conflicts between the norms of international treaties, between the norms of an international treaty and acts of national legislation, and propose ways of their solution.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1.Know the basics of general theory of state and law, features of modern legal systems, know the fundamentals of Roman law, civil law and civil process, master the basics of the theory of public international law. 2.Be able to coduct independent search of normative and literary sources, to apply basic international and internal acts of legal regulation of public and private law relations. 3.Have the basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, working out of a considerable amount of legal material while providing one’s own conclusions and proposals
Course content
The сourse "International Trade and Intellectual Property Law" is aimed at s acquaintance of student with the basic principles, doctrinal principles, definitions, legal categories and institutions of intellectual property; the discipline is also aimed at acquaintance students with the system of international protection of intellectual property within the framework of the World Intellectual Property Organization; particular attention is paid to the international cooperation of States in intellectual property protection within the WTO.

Lectures, seminars, solving practical cases, the execution of self-study tasks; performing group tasks-simulations
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of student assessment: semester assessment is conducted in the form of testing knowledge, skills in the general / final assessment system: 1. considering the performance at the seminar (participation in the discussion) ‒ 10%; 2. in the form of writing individual analytical papers ‒ 25%; 3. in the form of presentation of the individual topic of the report ‒ 15%; 4. in the form of writing the midterm paper consisting of test tasks ‒ 10%. Control and assessment of knowledge is executed according to the module rating system and it is proposed to assess: the maximum for the subject - 100 points, which includes 60 points ‒work during the semester and 40 points ‒ the exam. module control: for two modules ‒ up to 60 points (30 + 30); final control: exam (paperwork) ‒ up to 40 points
