Learning outcomes
Demonstrate knowledge and skills of creating conceptual schemes of solving international andnational legal problems, examining legal concepts to ensure logical consistency and practical adequacy, producing new ideas for solving practical issues in the field of professional legal activity o.f settlingint international disputes. Professionally represent the state, natural and legal persons in Ukrainian courts, courts of other states, international arbitration and judicial bodies,perform professional legal duties in international judicial bodies.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1.Knowledge of the theoretical basics of Public International Law and International Human Rights Law, International Legal Mechanisms for the Protection of Human Rights and the National System for the Protection of Human Rights. 2.Ability to analyse and establish the content of rights and obligations of subjects of international law in accordance with the provisions of international treaties in particular the European Convention on Human Rights of 1950 and Protocols thereto, apply the decisions and judgments of the European Court of Human Rights to improve the national legislation of Ukraine.
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. An introduction to the ECHR. Jurisdiction of the ECHR ratione materiae. 2. Jurisdiction of the ECHR ratione personae, loci, temporis. 3. Admissibility criteria for application to the ECHR. 4. Preparation of an individual / interstate application to the ECHR: peculiarities of filling out the application form and accompanying documents. 5. Representation of applicant at the ECHR: non-lawyer and lawyer representatives. Agents. 6. Proceedings before the ECHR.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 40 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is a final test. The final test is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the final test – up to 40 points.
