Learning outcomes
Know the concepts and main categories of international migration law; the main categories of migrants; the specifics of regulatory regulation of external and internal migration; the content and peculiarities of application of the main treaties and regulations of Ukraine on migration and protection of migrants' rights; the content and status of compliance with Ukraine's international legal obligations in the field of migration and protection of the rights of migrants, foreigners, refugees and displaced persons; the problems of irregular (illegal) migration and trafficking of human beings and how to prevent and combat these phenomena; the peculiarities of institutional support for migration processes

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the fundamentals of “Public International Law (fundamentals of theory)”, “Public International Law (major brunches and institutes)”, “Law of Treaties”, as well as theoretical foundations of international protection of human rights 2. Be able to analyse and determine the content of the rights and obligations of subjects of international law, apply the rules and principles of international law and decisions of international courts to meet specific objectives, analyse and establish the content of Ukrainian and foreign legislation. 3. Have basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, elaboration of a large array of legal material with one’s own conclusions and suggestions
Course content
Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. Main categories of persons and population in international law and national legislation of Ukraine. 2. Nationality in international law and national legal systems. 3. Multiple nationality: concept, causes and legal consequences 4. Stateless persons. Legal status of stateless persons. 5. State sovereignty and freedom of movement: problems of interaction. 6. Legal status of foreigners and stateless persons in Ukraine. 7. Asylum in international and national law 8. Legal status of refugees.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 22 points), written assignment (up to 20 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is a final test. The final test is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the final test – up to 40 points.
