Learning outcomes
To know the main stages in the development of international legal regulations on equal rights and opportunities for men and women, the concept of reproductive rights and gender. To know the content of the principle of non-discrimination on grounds of sex, gender, gender identity and sexual orientation. To know the main international agreements, the activities of international organizations and international jurisprudence in the areas of equal rights and opportunities for men and women, non-discrimination on the basis of sex, reproductive rights, and combating gender-based violence.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To have general knowledge of the theory of law, the fundamentals of the theory of international law, the main branches and institutions of international law, the mechanisms for the international protection of human rights, the operation of international treaties in the legal order of the State. 2. Be able to analyse and determine the content of the rights and obligations of subjects of international law, apply the rules and principles of international law and decisions of international courts to meet specific objectives, analyse and establish the content of Ukrainian and foreign legislation. 3. Have basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, elaboration of a large array of legal material with one’s own conclusions and suggestions

Thematic plan of the discipline: 1. International treaty and institutional mechanisms for gender equality. 2. International legal instruments to combat gender-based violence 3. The concept of reproductive rights in international law 4. The international and national legal dimension of sexual orientation and gender identity

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 22 points), written assignment (up to 20 points), final modular test (up to 20 points). The form of final control is a final test. The final test is conducted in writing. The student's answer to the final test – up to 40 points.
