Learning outcomes
The discipline is aimed at students' assimilation of knowledge about the sources of criminal proceedings in Ukraine, France, Germany, the USA and Great Britain, the peculiarities of the powers of the subjects of criminal proceedings, the concept of evidence in criminal proceedings, the issue of the application of security measures in criminal proceedings, the characteristics of the pre-trial investigation process, the procedure in courts of first instance, forms and procedure for review of court decisions in criminal proceedings. Students get acquainted with the basic principles of the activities of prosecution and defense institutes in criminal proceedings, the role and powers of a lawyer at various stages of a criminal process, a civil defense attorney when considering a criminal case in matters of compensation for damage caused by a crime, as well as issues of protection of constitutional and legal rights and human freedoms in the process of criminal proceedings

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have general knowledge of the theory of law, the concept of legal norms, law enforcement activities, general knowledge of responsibility, knowledge of the material part of criminal law, etc. In addition, the student must have general knowledge about the foundations of the theory of international law, the effect of international treaties in the legal order of the state

Thematic plan of the discipline:
1. Concept, subject, method, task and system of the course "Comparative criminal process". Concepts, forms, system of the criminal process, its main principles
2. Sources of criminal procedural law
3. Bodies and instances conducting criminal proceedings
4. Evidence in criminal procedural law
5. Compensation for damage in criminal proceedings
6. Measures to ensure criminal proceedings
7. Pretrial proceedings and pretrial investigation in criminal procedural law
8. Trial of criminal cases in courts of first instance
9. Court proceedings on review of criminal sentences by appellate and cassation instances
10. International legal bases of cooperation in the field of criminal proceedings

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: work at seminars (up to 42 points), essay writing (up to 8 points), drafting court decisions of courts of various instances (up to 5 points), control work (up to 5 points), final assessment work (up to 40 points).
The form of the final control is the assessment conducted in the form of testing
