Learning outcomes
Know the concept of international legal regulation and features of its implementation
Know the ways in which effective international legal regulation of an issue can be achieved
Know the theories of international legal regulation and how they explain the existence and effectiveness of international law
Be able to prove the need for international legal regulation of a particular issue
Be able to apply the means and methods by which effective international legal regulation of an issue can be achieved
Be able to analyse existing and future provisions of international law in terms of different theories of international legal regulation
Be able to work with professional analytical literature on international law; analyse the texts of international treaties, acts of international organizations, acts of national legislation of Ukraine and decisions of international judicial institutions
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basics of the theory of state and law, history of legal and political doctrines, history of international law, legal systems of today.
2. Be able to analyze and establish the content of the rights and obligations of subjects of international law in accordance with the provisions of international treaties.
3. Have basic skills of legal analysis and synthesis, critical thinking, elaboration of a significant array of legal material with the provision of their own conclusions and suggestions.

1. International legal regulation: the concept and proof of the need for implementation
2. Features of international legal regulation in various fields of international law
3. International treaty as the main means of international legal regulation
4. Implementation of international legal regulation by international organizations: law and policy
5. Methodology of law and international law. A brief introduction to the philosophy of international law
6. International legal doctrines: a historical digression into the length of human existence
7. Positivism and normativism as theories of knowledge of international law
8. Natural law theory of international law
9. Schools of international law based on the International Relations / International Law approach

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, individual works, module control works, credit
Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: oral answers (up to 21 points), module control works (up to 30 points), individual work (up to 19 points), Moot Court/Case-Study/Speech contest (up to 30 points). The final score is counted according to the results of the student's work during the semester. When receiving the total number of points from 60 and above, the student gets a credit. Students who got less than 20 points are not allowed to pass a credit. If a student has got less than 60 scores for the results of his or her work during semester, passing the credit in writing is obligatory. If a student has got 60 or more scores for the results of his or her work during the semester, but wants to get more, he or she has a right to pass a credit orally and an opportunity to get more scores. A student will be given 5 questions from the list of questions for credit to pass the credit.
