The Passive Voice. Modal verbs. Sequence of tenses. Non-finite forms of the verb. Infinitive and Gerund. Infinitival and Gerundial constructions. To pronounce English sounds and words correctly, to connect words in the speech. To master the reading technique and proper rhythm and intonation sentence patterns. To comprehend the speech of a teacher and a speaker within mastered grammar and lexical material. To read and understand an unfamiliar adapted text; to be able to retell a text after reading (or a listening comprehension), to ask questions on the text. To write dictations on 1000 printed signs (120 words per 40 minutes). To translate a text from English into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into English (on the passed lexical and grammar material 25 sentences per 2 academic hours). To understand the English language, to maintain a conversation within the passed topics, to use communicative skills, to do group tasks under a teacher’s guidance.

The use of the Gerund The functions of the Gerund in the sentence The Gerund and the Infinitive. Articles with uncountable nouns.

Practical classes

The semester number of points is formed by the points obtained by a student in the process of current control, mastering the material of content modules and complex module. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale, of which: - semester assessment 3 content modules of 10 points (written works) = 30 points (30%) current control = 30 points (30%) complex module = 40 points (40%) Current control includes: home reading - 10 points grammar - 5 points LSP- 5 points texts - 5 points conversational topics - 5 points - comprehensive assessment The complex module includes: Written assignments – 10 points International documents -10 points Ctredit/exam-20 points The credit is set based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and doesn`t provide additional measures for the evaluation of successful students. The results of students' learning activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale.
