To know: what internationa law is and its necessity, the features characteristic of international law, its history, the dualistic and monistic theories of relations between international and national law, the system of international law, the concept of private international law, of the EU Law, of comparative law, where to find the provisions of international law, the concept of the sources of international law, who creates international law and who has undertakings according to it, the concept of subjects/persons under international law, the legal nature of international law, the nature of application and enforcement of international law, the theories of origin of the binding character of international law and the main provisions of each of them, the ethical questions of studying and practice of international law.

- to know the basis of the relations of regulation in general and the legal relations in particular. - to be able to analyze and define the contents of rights and duties. - to possess the beginner's skills of the legal analysis and synthesis, of critical thinking, of ability to work with the large amount of law material while guaranteeing the conclusions and propositions of one's own.

Thematic plan of the discipline: Module 1. International law as a sphere of professional activities. The general questions of introduction to international law 1. Law as profession. 2. The science of international law as a special sphere of lawyer's activities. 3. The concept of international law. 4. The interaction of international law and national law. 5. The sources of international law. 6. International law as a system. Module 2. The basics of the international law knowledge. 7. The International Legal Personality.

Lectures, seminars

Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 20 points for module 1, up to 15 points - for module 2); out-of-class work (up to 20 points for module 1, up to 10 points - for module 2); final module quizzes (up to 20 points for module 1, up to 35 points for module 2). The form of final control is in the form of exam (up to 40 points).
