Learning outcomes
Have the theoretical knowledge on:
creation and formation of international organisations as subjects of international law;
concept, features and types of international organisations as subjects of international law;
the concept of international legal status of an international organisation and its elements;
international organisations as subjects of the law-making process;
legal acts of international organisations, their types and legal nature;
integration of Ukraine to the system of international relations and international organisations.
Be able:
classify international organisations by features and elements of international legal status;
analyse the constituent documents of various international organisations;
determine the grounds and type of responsibility of the international organisation;
to show autonomy and responsibility in the preparation of brief papers, analytical notes and recommendations in the field of the law of international organisations.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
The course “Law of International Organisations” interplays closely with the following disciplines: "Public International Law", "International Environmental Law", "International Legal Fundamentals of Economic Diplomacy" etc.
Prerequisites for mastering the course "Law of International Organisations":
- knowledge of the basics of the theory of international law, public international law and its branches and international economic law.
- ability to use legal concepts and categories of the international law, express and justify logically and professionally their position in the field of international law.
- skills to learn international legal literature.

1. The law of international organisations in the system of public international law
2. The creation and formation of international intergovernmental organisations as subjects of international law.
3. The UN as an universal international organisation.
4. The legal nature of international organisations.
5. International legal status of an international organisation.
6. International organisations as subjects of the law-making process.
7. Acts of international organisations, their types and legal nature.
8. International non-governmental organisations and conferences.

Evaluation is carried out according to the modular rating system. Current control: answers (up to 10 points), additions (up to 5 points), presentations (up to 10 points), final modular test (up to 15 points).
The form of final control is a credit which is carried out in the form of written assignments.
