Learning outcomes
Ability to abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis; ability to practical approbation of acquired knowledge; ability to work in an international environment; ability to identify the characteristics and trends of the world economy, especially the implementation of economic policy and global integration / disintegration processes, including european and euro-atlantic integration; ability to identify features of the functioning of the environment of international economic relations and models of economic development, to apply modern information technologies for economic and mathematical modeling, analysis and forecasting of international economic relations; ability to substantiate the peculiarities of the implementation of forms of international economic relations at the mega-, macro-, meso- and macro levels; ability to conduct a comprehensive analysis and monitoring of world markets, assess changes in the international environment and to be able to adapt to them.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A student must have general knowledge of the patterns of behavior of economic entities in market conditions, have universal tools for making informed decisions about the choice in the presence of limited resources and alternative uses, determine the functions of market self-regulation and the need and nature of government intervention; reveal the content of the mechanism of state regulation of the economy by means of fiscal, monetary, foreign economic and social policy; use methods of calculating key macroeconomic indicators; use macroeconomic terminology. In addition, a student must have the necessary qualifications to conduct a comparative statistical analysis of processes and phenomena occurring in the world economy and in individual countries and regions.
Course content
Content module 1 Competitiveness and competition in the EU common market. The main models of competition in regional and global markets. Competitiveness of national economies of EU member states. Characteristics of the competitive environment of European markets. Determining the competitiveness of goods in the EU common market. Determinants of competitiveness of firms in the Union markets. Features of competitive strategies of firms in EU markets. The main forms of competition of firms in EU markets. Content module 2. The system of community competition regulation in the EU. Antitrust regulation system in the EU. Cartel activity allowed in the EU common market. EU competition policy on abuse of market dominance. Competition policy and state aid in the EU. Community competition rules for certain categories of enterprises. External dimensions of EU competition policy. The EU influence on the elaboration of Ukraine's competition policy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment is carried out in the form of testing knowledge and skills: 1. During the answer to the seminar (participation in the discussion); 2. In the form of writing individual analytical works during independent study of topics; 3. In the form of essay writing; 4. In the form of a discussion of the development of competition in EU markets; 5. In the form of a presentation of the analysis of competitive forces in the markets of specific goods in the EU common market; 6. In the form of a presentation of the study of the competitiveness of individual EU countries and companies. The final assessment (in the form of a test) is carried out in the form of presenting a study of competitive forces in the market of certain goods of the EU member state.
