Learning outcomes
To know stages and organizational steps on establishment and enlargement of the Euro Area, factors and effects of its establishment, determinants of the euro exchange rate, functions and organization structure of the Eurosystem, single monetary policy tools in the Euro area, components of integration in fiscal area, banking, payments and other financial services. To be able to analyze preconditions, effects and scenarios of monetary integration, factors of the euro exchange rate, understand institutional mechanism of monetary and financial integration, analyze causes and forecast actions of the Eurosystem on implementation of monetary policy, to estimate the effect of monetary policy and exchange rate developments on economic development, analyze legal framework of the fiscal and and financial integration in the EU, to assess prospects of monetary and financial integration of Ukraine and the EU. Prerequisites and co-requisites
- To know theoretical aspects and main regulation tools for monetary and financial relations. - To be able to analyze causes and effects of trends in monetary and financial relations. - To have basic skills of searching and analysis of legal documents, analytical information and statistical data sources. - To know English or other official EU languages for better opportunities for review of the EU legal acts.
Course content

Monetary integration in the EU. 1.The essence and preconditions of monetary integration. 2.History of establishment of the European Monetary Union. 3.Effects of monetary integration in the EU. 4.Enlargement of the Euro Area. 5.Factors of the euro exchange rate. Module 2. Single monetary policy in the Euro Area. 6. Tasks and functions of the European System of Central Banks. 7. Organization of activities of the European System of Central Banks. 8.Tools and procedures in the single monetary policy in the Euro Area. 9.Transmission mechanism of monetary policy. 10.Practice of implementation of the single monetary policy in the Euro Area. Module 3.Other forms of financial integration in the EU. 11.Fiscal integration in the EU. 12.Integration in the field of payments. 13.Establishing banking union in the EU. 14. Consumer protection in financial services. 15.Practice and Prospects of integration of Ukraine and the EU in financial area.
