Learning outcomes
Ability to analyze acts of current legislation of Ukraine, norms of which regulate public relations related to ensuring the constitutional and legal status of a person and citizen, ability to use national legal active vocabulary, ability to identify general trends in the development of the institution of the constitutional status of a person and a citizen of Ukraine on the grounds of researching the acts of national legislation, as well as universal and regional human rights standards; independently formulate and express opinions when considering topical issues related to the constitutional status of a person and a citizen in Ukraine, be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in justifying their position during discussions and debates.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Required knowledge of jurisprudence, successful mastering of the normative course "Constitutional Law"; availability of basic knowledge in certain branches of law: administrative, civil, criminal and others; skills of understanding and analysis of the sources of national and international law and basic skills of drafting regulations; ability to responsible teamwork, and to further independent study of the special features of the mechanism of protection of individual and civil rights in Ukraine.
Course content
The study of the discipline reveals the following issues: human rights as a normative form of interaction between individuals, society and the state; genesis of ideas of human rights and the rule of law; human rights generation; human social capabilities; the priority of human rights as a defining principle of the rule of law; the legal status of man and citizen as an institution of constitutional law; approaches to understanding the legal status of man and citizen; trends in the development and legal regulation of the constitutional and legal status of man and citizen at the present stage; the concept, content and structure of the constitutional and legal status of man and citizen; the social and legal nature of the fundamental rights, freedoms and responsibilities of man and citizen; system, classification and types of fundamental rights, freedoms and responsibilities of man and citizen; features of the legal status of foreigners and stateless persons.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and seminars are conducted using interactive teaching methods (brainstorming, case studies, discussions, etc.). Solution of situational problems is planned; preparation of documentation on citizenship issues; essay writing by applicants.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current and final control is applied. Assessment methods - the type of work / activity of the applicant, which will assess the level of achievement of learning outcomes (testing, creative tasks, individual work, independent work, etc. and the minimum threshold after which a positive assessment is credited) - and evaluation criteria are communicated to applicants before beginning of the study of the discipline by a teacher who conducts seminars. At the ongoing and final performance evaluation are subject to assessment: the level of "Knowledge", "Understanding", "Application", "Analysis" / "Synthesis" / "Evaluation", demonstrated by the applicant. If the applicant is absent from the seminar for good reasons, he can work out the missed lesson at extracurricular time. Points are not awarded for missed classes.
