Prerequisites and co-requisites
To master or study this discipline, the student must learn the courses "History of Foreign Literature" (educational level "Bachelor") and literary courses of the Master's program (first year of study); be fluent in the fundamental literary concepts essential to perform literary analytics; apply theoretical literary knowledge and practical skills to work with both literary and theoretical sources.
Course content
Course subject: theoretical and practical heritage of literary critics dealing with the literature of Central and South-Eastern Europe. The content of the course is based on the comparative principle, which allows to better understand the essence of the methodology of studying the "Habsburg myth" in various national literatures belonging to the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Course objectives: to acquaint students with the theoretical and practical achievements of literary critics who examine the literature of the Danube region, the development of literary analysis skills and the ability to interpret theoretical and literary texts using the proposed methodology, fitting it into the global and domestic context.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities: oral answer at seminars, oral review, supplementary answers at the lesson, test paper, final analytical essay. Teaching methods: lecture, seminar, group discussion, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is conducted in the form of a test, the grade is formed as the sum of all points earned during the semester. Seminars (full answers, oral reviews, supplementary answers): 3-5 points; final test (multiple choice and open-ended questions) (accepted on provision 60% of answers are correct): 15-25 points; final analytical essay (accepted on account of independent, heuristic and creative interpretation of the matter, proper compliance with technical requirements for student analytical works and conformity with academic integrity): 6/10 points.
