Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages. PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected). PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of different styles and genres. PLO 21. To apply knowledge and skills necessary to ensure adequate written and oral Persian-Ukrainian two-way translation in various sectors of the economy and human life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of Persian grammar and vocabulary at a professional level (from the course "Persian for professional communication"); knowledge of the main theoretical provisions, specifics and problems of translation studies as a science; the ability to apply translation transformations in practice and to use search engines and catalogs of Internet information resources.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the specifics and technology of translation of negotiations and conferences, mastering the main array of basic vocabulary and phraseology, peculiarities of the syntax of the Persian language, as well as lexical and grammatical transformations used during the translation of the texts of speeches, reports, theses, commercial negotiations, etc. and development of skills in their practical application.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training takes place in the form of interactive lectures and practical classes, which involve the active work of students on oral translation in the classroom, self-study work. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral survey and the organization of written tasks, lexical dictations, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral answers, written tasks, lexical dictations, translation exercises - 24/40 points, modular test papers - 12/20 points. Final evaluation in the form of exam: max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, the examinational task consists of two questions, viz. 1) translation of an unfamiliar text from Persian into Ukrainian; 2) translation of an unfamiliar text from Ukrainian to Persian. Students who in total scored less than 36 points during the semester are not allowed to pass the exam.
