Course content
Students undergo practical training in institutions and organizations that need or provide German language translation services. The site of practical training is determined in accordance with the list of available agreements or based on a student's individual choice. Translation practical training involves the implementation of translation projects in an internship institution. At the site of practical training, a supervisor is assigned to the student. The types and topics of translation performed during the practical training should correspond to the main profile and features of the educational program (translation and/or interpretation of texts of various genres). Translation practical training is designed to immerse students in the production process of translation, to present them with an opportunity to practically apply competencies acquired during training in order to meet professional objectives (communication with the customer of a translation project, communication with colleagues, order analysis, resource allocation, text analysis, determining the translation strategy, performance of translation, editing, project completion, etc.).
