PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian and English. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 16. Know and understand basic terms, theories and tenets of translation studies, be able to apply the knowledge in professional activities. PLO 23. Make, edit and translate written and oral texts of political or business discourse (Ukrainian and English).

Full-time form

Successful completion of the following courses: Socio-Political Studies, Introduction to General Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, Translation studies, Practical Course of English; Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, morphological, syntactic and stylistic analysis; Mastery of the method of morphological, syntactic and stylistic analysis; the principles of collecting, accumulating, processing and searching for information; The ability to write short texts of the given style and genre.

The purpose of the discipline: to teach students to create and search for texts written in Ukrainian or English on the Internet, which differ in topic, genre and style. To provide knowledge of the basic principles of the operation of search engines in the Internet environment. Provide basic HTML site programming skills focused on optimizing sites for relevant search.

Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars using traditional and innovative (multimedia support for lectures and seminars) teaching methods. Educational activities during the semester: auditory work: individual, frontal, group; Lab; independent work: individual, remote, searching, reproductive, research.

Semester assessment The overall grade for the semester consists of points obtained for laboratory work and a modular test: 1. Laboratory works: 40/24 points. 2. Test work: 20/12 points. Final assessment - exam: 1. Written answers to two theoretical questions for the course (maximum – 10 points for each question: 10 x 2 = 20 points). 2. Completion of two practical tasks (maximum – 10 points for each question: 10 x 2 = 20 points). The final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment - the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
