Learning outcomes
PLO 4. Understand the fundamental principles of human, nature and society genesis. PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 14. Use English and two other Western European languages in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A "Pass" in the second language (German) and the knowledge of German at the B2 level.
Course content
The aim of the course is to teach students the norms of oral business communication, the structure and rules of drafting various documents in German; to ensure students' mastery of vocabulary (including specific economic terminology), phonetics, grammar of modern business German, writing and speaking skills grounding on the students' command of the language (as of German as a second foreign language). The task of the discipline is to develop of reading skills and business-related texts comprehension; to enrich the vocabulary with professional terminology; to improve oral monologue and dialogue speech on business topics; to develop the skills of abstracting business texts in German; to boost business correspondence skills in German. Training is conducted in the form of practical classes, as well as students` self-study. The discipline ends with a credit at the end of the term.

Assessed term activities include: Oral answers Presentations Written tasks Final test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Term assessment: the maximum number of points during the term is 75 points Oral answer: PH 1.2; PH 1.4-1.6; PH 3.1, 3.3, 3.4 – 30 points. Presentation: PH 3.3 – 20 points. Written task: PH 3.2; PH 3.5 – 5 points. Final test: PH 1.1 – 1.4, 3.2 – 20 points. The final assessment is carried out in the form of credit: the maximum number of points for the test is 25 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade) added up to a term grade is 15 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned for the exam); the following learning outcomes are evaluated during the test: PH 1.1; PH 1.3; PH 3.2; assessment is carried out in the form of a lexical and grammar test (assessed with a maximum of 15 points) and a writing a business letter task (assessed with a maximum of 10 points).
