Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 8. Know and understand the system of language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of English and the two studied Western European languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, English and two other Western European languages. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and English fiction and oral folk art, to determine their peculiarities and place in the literary process. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and specific philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know - basics of literary analysis of fiction; - historical conditions of the development of Ukrainian literature; - features of the development of poetry, prose, drama in Ukrainian literature of the late 20th – beginning of the 21st century; - genre and style peculiarities of Ukrainian literature of the late 20th – beginning of the 21st century; - Features of coexistence within the modern prose discourse of different stylistic trends: modernism, postmodernism, avant-garde, surrealism, "magical realism", etc .; - the latest literary concepts, be well-versed in them, fuently use them for the analysis of fiction; Be able - to analyze the ideological and artistic content of literary works, works of writers in the context of the current requirements of modern literary criticism; - identify literary phenomena, collect, systematize, describe and analyze the research material; - interpret modern acsdemic and critical literature on the development of Ukrainian poetry, prose, drama.
Course content
The course consolidates and deepens basic knowledge on the history of Ukrainian literature, in particular the laws of development of the Ukrainian historical and literary process in its interrelationship with world literature and culture. It continues the systematic study of: vivid modern literary phenomena in a variety of styles and genres, innovative changes in the Ukrainian cultural and stylistic epoch of the 20th –21st centuries, marked by exploration and experiment. In the process of studying the discipline students observe the features of poetics of modern poetry, drama, short stories, novels, study thematic ideological and and genre-stylistic peculiarities, features of storytelling, characterization, illustrative and expressive means in the works of Yuri Andrukhovych, Oksana Zabuzhko, Halina Pagutak, Serhii Zhadan, Yuri Vynnychuk and others.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Answer at the seminars, participation in professional discussions during the seminars. Creative tasks, presentation of results of independent work in the form of reports, accounts and presentations. Module test / Creative project.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final assessment is a pass/fail grade. The pass grade is given if students earn enough points for their work throughout the semester, which does not presuppose any additional assessment. Students who scored a minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "Pass". The students who earn less than 60 points are required to compile material on the missed topics in the form of individual and laboratory works, essays or, if necessary, a test to get a “Pass”.
