Course content
Students get acquainted with the problems of teaching contemporary Anglophone literature in the context of general secondary education. By expanding their own scope of reading, they deepen their knowledge of the current state of development of American literature, improve their skills in analysing the artistic structure of works, as well as teaching methods and the formation of subject competences in students. The considerable attention is paid to the world experience of teaching English literature, in particular, gained by the lecturer during the internship at the University of Seattle in the SUSI Contempory American Literature programme. Students have the opportunity to work with texts in the original, analyse, interpret and discuss them in English. The course provides for the possibility of implementing students' individual educational trajectories by expanding individual reading, as well as preparing and presenting analyses of self-chosen works in the form of a research report
