Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses General, Age-Related, and Pedagogical Psychology; Pedagogical Techniques; Methods of Teaching Foreign Literature in General Education Schools; and Innovative Methods of Teaching Foreign Literature in the School of Specialized, Special and Distance Education. 2. Theoretical basis knowledge of the organization of educational and cognitive pupils’ activities in secondary school.
Course content
Pedagogical Practice in Teaching Foreign Literature aims at forming students’ ability and willingness to plan, organize, implement in practice, and critically evaluate the process of teaching Foreign Literature in basic secondary school; willingness to work as a teacher of Foreign Literature in secondary school; to conduct educational and upbringing work, monitor and evaluate student achievement. Full-time and / or distance form of practice is provided. The Practice forms the ability to apply modern approaches, methods, principles, technologies, and means in teaching Foreign Literature, to solve problems related to the learning process, to adapt to changes and accept the challenges of the modern educational environment in a mixed form of learning.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study consist of observational and active parts of practice, as well as preparing credit documents. Teaching methods include plans of the lessons, their conducting off- or online, self-analysis (with records in the Diary of the Practice); conducting the credit lesson; attendance, observation and analysis of teacher’s and peers’ lessons off- or online (with records in the Diary of the Practice); writing of a detailed plan-summary of the credit lesson; preparation, scriptwriting and conducting of the extracurricular activities (group work) off- or online; practice report and practice defending.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment takes the form of a differentiated credit. The grade is formed as the sum of all points scored during the semester for each type of activity: plans of the lessons, their conducting off- or online, self-analysis (with records in the Diary of the Practice) – min 24 / max 32; conducting the credit lesson – min 6 / max 12; attendance, observation and analysis of teacher’s and peers’ lessons off- or online (with records in the Diary of the Practice) – min 6 / max 12; writing of a detailed plan-summary of the credit lesson – min 6 / max 12; preparation, scriptwriting and conducting of the extracurricular activities (group work) off- or online – min 6 / max 12; practice report – min 6 / max 10 and practice defending – min 6 / max 10. Evaluation is based on a 100-point scale: 0-59 – failed; 60-100 – passed.
