Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of theoretical and methodological foundations of teaching English; psychological and pedagogical bases of teaching English at school; theoretical principles of modelling learning technologies, basics of scientific work in teaching methods. 2. Ability to y build the process of learning English effectively in various types of specialized educational institutions, in accordance with the tasks and learning conditions; to use modern methods, technologies of teaching English, technologies of diagnostics of knowledge, skills and abilities of pupils in English; develop and test English language learning technologies.
Course content
Pedagogical Practice in Teaching English aims at forming students' ability to work as an English teache. The studetns develop, implement and test their own technologies for teaching English. The practice is designed to ensure the formation of professional and pedagogical skills and abilities in conducting educational process at school. Pedagogical practice contributes to the development of professional self-awareness, culture of communication, the formation of theoretical, practical and personal-motivational components of professional competence of students. Students develop their own creative style of teaching.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study consist of observational and active parts of practice, as well as preparing credit documents. Teaching methods include acquaintance with the educational and methodological support of the educational process, acquaintance with the class (classes); attendance of teacher’s lessons; analysis of teacher’s lesson; conducting lessons; attendance of peers’ lessons; analysis of peer’s lesson; lesson plans-summaries; psychological characteristics of the class.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment takes the form of a differentiated credit. The grade is formed as the sum of all points scored during the semester for each type of activity: acquaintance with the educational and methodological support of the educational process, acquaintance with the class (classes) – min 3 / max 5; attendance of teacher’s lessons – min 3 / max 5; analysis of teacher’s lesson – min 3 / max 5; conducting lessons – min 24 / max 40; attendance of peers’ lessons – min 9 / max 15; analysis of peer’s lesson – min 3 / max 5; lesson plans-summaries – min 12 / max 20; psychological characteristics of the class – min 3 / max 5. Evaluation is based on a 100-point scale: 0-59 – failed; 60-100 – passed.
