Course content
Students acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of methods of teaching Foreign Literature in general education schools; get acquainted with the advanced Ukrainian and international experience in teaching literature; model, present and evaluate fragments of Foreign Literature lessons using modern approaches, methods and techniques of teaching; work out tests.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study consist of lectures, practical classes and students’ self-study.
Teaching methods include answers at the practical classes; modelling and presentation of fragments of lessons using modern approaches, methods and techniques of teaching; modelling the lesson plan; presenting opinions on fragments of lesson; working out tests.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final mark for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the current and final control.
Formative assessment includes answers at practical classes (max 15/min 10 балів), modelling and presentation of fragments of lessons using modern approaches, methods and techniques of teaching (max 20/min 10 points), modelling the lesson plan (max 10/min 7 балів), presenting opinions on fragments of lesson (max 9/min 5 points), and working out tests (max 6/min 4 points). In total, in-process evaluations of academic progress during the semester a student can gain max 60/min 36 points.
Summative assessment is arranged in the form of the exam. The exam scores max 40/min 24 points. To be admitted to the exam a student must score min 36 points. To receive a positive mark in the discipline, the mark for the exam must be at least 24 points.
