Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of courses: Lexicology and lexicography of the Czech language; Stylistics of the Czech language; Principles of etymological analysis of the vocabulary of Slavic languages; History of Czech culture; Folklore of Western and Eastern Slavs; students must know the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, possess the method of semantic analysis, elementary skills of searching, accumulating, analyzing and synthesizing information
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the formation of professional competencies of master's students based on the system of knowledge about the interaction of the Czech language and culture from the point of view of lingocentrism and anthropocentrism in the context of European theoretical foundations and linguistic and cultural traditions. The subject of the academic discipline involves the study of universal and distinctive features of the language picture of the world of the Czech ethnic group by means of phraseology; gives an idea of the semantics of phraseological units in the historical and cultural dimension, connections with traditional folk culture, forms skills of stylistic use of phraseology in accordance with the conditions and target guidelines of a specialist in various spheres of communicative activity. The discipline is taught in the 3rd semester and is worth 5 ECTS credits. The course includes 2 content modules: Module 1 "Ethnolinguistics as an interdisciplinary science", Module 2: "National and cultural semantics of Czech phraseology on a pan-Slavic background". The form of final semester control is an exam.

Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, exam.
Assessment methods and criteria
Training takes place in the form of lectures, practical classes, and independent work. Throughout the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work and forms of control: answers in the seminar class (max. 8, min. 2), additions in the seminar class, participation in the discussion (max. 4, min. 2), report-analysis of scientific literature (max. 8, min. 4), writing and defending an abstract (max. 10, min. 7), presentation (max. 10, min. 7), final test or test (max. 20, min. 14). The final grade in the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the final assessment in the exam (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
