Learning outcomes
LO 1. Solve complex tasks and problems that require updating and integrating knowledge in conditions of incomplete/insufficient information and conflicting requirements. LO 2. Critically evaluate the results of scientific research and various sources of knowledge about social work practices, formulate conclusions and recommendations for their implementation. LO 4. Show deep knowledge and systematic understanding of theoretical concepts, both from the field of Social Work and from other branches of socio-humanitarian Sciences. LO 14. Determine the methodology of Applied Scientific Research and apply methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis of results, including methods of Mathematical Statistics.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic forms of knowledge: everyday, scientific, dogmatic, etc .; differences between everyday and scientific worldview; features and logic of concept formation; the expediency of development and use of paradigms and theories; the concept of scientific phenomenon and fact; differences between applied and scientific research. 2. Be able to: formulate a scientific problem, determine the subject and objectives of the study; assess the appropriateness of the conclusions obtained from psychological research; develop and plan research to solve psychological problems using appropriate research methods; analyze the results and summarize the conclusions of the study based on the parameters of specific research methods.
Course content
The purpose of teaching the discipline is to form in students the culture of organizing the processes of scientific knowledge and understanding of the position of the researcher, necessary for the professional development of a social worker. The course highlights the methodological principles of research in social work, as well as forms students' understanding of science as a social institution, the system of knowledge and technological aspects of research organization. The master of social work must carry out such a type of professional activity as research. To do this, the research work of the master involves the use of different methods of solving research problems, comprehensive analysis, structuring, evaluation of social information, highlighting the main, diagnosis, forecasting, design and modeling of social processes and phenomena in social protection

Assessment methods and criteria
The order of organization of assessment is carried out during the semester during the performance of students: 1. Creative and reproductive tasks for independent work - up to 10 points for each 2. Preparation of reports and abstracts - up to 10 points for each 3. Modular test - up to 20 points - final assessment in the form of credit - up to 40 points Based on the results of the semester, the student receives a final grade on a 100-point system, which is calculated as the accumulated grades for the module in the semester and grades for the test according to the following formula: Content module (30-60 points) + Comprehensive final module 40 points) = Total (final score) (36 - 100 points) Rating scale Excellent 90-100 Good 75-89 Satisfactory 60-74 Fail 0-59 Passed 60-100 Fail 0-59
