Learning outcomes
LO 3. To identify, formulate and solve problems in the field of social work, to integrate theoretical knowledge and practical experience. LO 5. To argue ways to overcome problems and difficult life circumstances theoretically, to choose effective methods to solve them, to predict the consequences. LO 10. To analyze socio-psychological processes in small and large groups. LO 14. By their own to determine the circumstances which are needed social assistance. LO 20. To identify ethical dilemmas and contradictions in professional activities and to use supervision to resolve them.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
to know: - current state of theory and practice of social work on disability issues; - have basic theoretical knowledge to understand the meaning of «disability,» «special needs,» «disabilities»; - theoretical foundations of social work with people with different types of disabilities; - legal bases on disability issues; - content and forms of work of a social worker with persons with disabilities; - basic technologies of counseling social work with people with disabilities. be able: - to apply the acquired knowledge in practice when working with people with disabilities; - to have practical skills in using various forms and methods of social work with people with disabilities; - to assist in the implementation of resource provision of social work in interaction with people with disabilities; - to form positive attitudes in society on the issue of disability.
Course content
The discipline reveals the basic concepts of the course, determines the causes of disability, the specifics of a person's disability. It also outlines the social aspect of the problem of disability, society's response to the problem of limitations, standards of social work, the legal framework for disability, stereotypes about people with disabilities. Considering ethical constructions for interacting with a person with a disability is a must. While studying the discipline, students can consider models of social work with this category of clients, to study the technology of social work counseling and the specifics of their application in the implementation of practical activities in this area. The purpose of the discipline is to form the basic foundations of professional competence in social work in the field of work with people with disabilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment methods: creative and reproductive tasks in individual work; seminar and practical tasks; modular test work; final assessment in the form of a test. Form of final control – credit. The final grade for the discipline consists of 100 points: 60 points for the module and grades for the test (40 points). A student cannot take the final test if he scored less than 36 points during the semester. The grade for the test cannot be less than 24 points. Organization of assessment: the order of organization of the forms of assessment provided by the working curriculum is carried out during the semester during students' creative and reproductive tasks on independent work, preparation of seminar and practical tasks, a compilation of modular tests at the end of the discipline and final test tasks. Rating scale: 90 - 100 «excellent» 75 - 89 «good» 60-74 «satisfactory» 0-59 «unsatisfactory/failed»
