Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 7. Understand the major issues of philology and approaches to solving those using relevant methods and innovative approaches. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 17. Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have successfully completed the following courses: "Introduction to Linguistics", "Introduction to Translation Studies", "Practical Course of the First Foreign Language", "Practice of Translation and Interpretation" (in the scope of the second year) and know basic linguistic concepts; principles of language material analysis; peculiarities of semantics, structure and functioning of units of all levels of the Spanish language; basics of communication theory and be able to apply linguistic tools in practice; have basic skills of selection, analysis and interpretation of linguistic facts; communication on linguistic topics.
Course content
The course consists of theoretical and practical parts. The lecture part of the course is devoted to such issues as general word theory, semantic structure of words and semantic relations between lexical items, word formation, etymology and phraseology, and stratification of the Spanish language vocabulary. Upon completion of the lecture course, students write the first module test. Practical classes are devoted to consolidating theoretical knowledge and its practical application in lexicological analysis. The cycle of practical classes also ends with a module test. At the end of the course, students take an oral exam, which includes two theoretical questions and a practical task. The program aims to improve students' knowledge of language theory and develop their scientific understanding of lexicological research methods. The focus is on comparative analysis of the lexical systems of Spanish and Ukrainian.

Assessment methods and criteria
The material of lectures on relevant topics is consolidated in practical classes, and its mastery is assessed in practical classes, in accordance with the provisions of clause 7.1 of the Program of the discipline. The work program involves writing two module tests. The discipline ends with an exam. The final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of performing the specified types and forms of training and obtained at the exam. The maximum distribution is as follows: 60 points - during the semester and 40 points - exam. If a student scores less than 24 points in an exam, they are not added to the semester grade, regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester, and the exam report in the column "final grade in the discipline" indicates only the number of points obtained during the semester.
