Learning outcomes

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know:
The main forms of family placement of orphans and children deprived of parental care;
Features of growing children;
Legal basis for preventing the removal of a child from the family.
To be able:
To work with the main documents of a social work specialist: fill in the needs assessment act, individual client card, social support plan;
To diagnose the socio-psychological state and level of development of the child.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at studying the features of social support of families with foster children. Students are introduced to basic forms of family placement: adoption, guardianship, foster care. During their studies, students deepen their knowledge of the peculiarities of growing up and socializing a child who has been removed from the family and is being cared for in a boarding school.
In the second half of the course, students study the basic regulations of social support of foster families: fill out personal training cases, develop a program to correct parent-child relationships, learn ways to establish and maintain a trusting relationship between child and social worker.

Individual and group projects, research work in the field, written works, participation in discussions. Form of final assessment - credit.
Based on the results of the work during the semester, the student receives a final grade on a 100-point system, which is calculated as the sum of grades for the semester and grades for the final task:
0-59 - not credited
60-100 - credited
