Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the main stages and characteristics of the historical and cultural process. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena and phenomena of culture, cultural processes and events; apply the main terms, categories and classifications of cultural studies in the analysis of socio-cultural phenomena and processes. 3. To have elementary skills of using acquired knowledge and skills in research, educational, cultural-organizational and cultural-educational work.
Course content
The course "History and Theory of Design" teaches the basics of the history and theory of design as an elective discipline. The educational discipline introduces students to the basics of modern artistic-aesthetic and socio-cultural practices and new phenomena in the fields of design. The subject, tasks, theoretical foundations, methodologies, main directions and problems of modern research in the field of visual communications are defined. The principles of analysis of visual communications and technologies, providing an expert assessment of trends in the development of design and applied arts are considered. The variability of the forms of visual practices is explained, which is the result of the influence of interrelated factors (artistic thinking and artistic logic, which is carried out by specific form-forming means of art and culture).
