Learning outcomes
LO05. Be able to identify, pose and solve scientific and applied problems, carry out a critical assessment of the decisions made. LO08. Conduct research on natural and geographical manifestations of the development of geosystems in complex and unpredictable conditions, forecast their development, analyze alternatives, assess risks and probable consequences. LO10. Apply geo-information technologies, create and research models of natural-geographic manifestations of the development of geosystems, determine the possibilities and limits of their application. LO14. Formulate scientific hypotheses, determine relevant aspects in fundamental and applied areas of research, develop and manage projects in the field of geography, in particular geomorphology and paleogeography.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic requirements of general education disciplines "General geomorphology", "General and historical geology", "Earth relief", "Paleogeomorphology". 2. To be able to use the acquired knowledge about the morphosystem of the Earth to solve various scientific and applied problems. 3. Possess elementary skills of geomorphological analysis using cartographic materials.
Course content
The content of the discipline reveals general and special issues of geomorphological zoning and forecasting: their history, causes and importance; influence of the theory of geomorphogenesis, paradigms (general and geomorphology) on geomorphological zoning; modern understanding of the object of geomorphology as a geomorphosystem and features of its zoning; typological and spatio-temporal aspects of geomorphological zoning; principles, approaches, procedures, methodological algorithms of geomorphological zoning; geomorphological zoning by nature of generalization; types of forecasting; the concept of end-to-end forecasting and its components.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Assessment methods and criteria
Survey in test and written form, credit. The maximum number of points on the test is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to semester points is 22 points. Students who scored a total number of points lower than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to pass the test. The recommended minimum for admission is 38 points.
