Conduct research and/or conduct innovative activities in order to obtain new knowledge, develop new methods and procedures in geography and interdisciplinary contexts. LO06. Apply modern models and information technologies for conducting research and development in the field of geography, in particular geomorphology, paleogeography and geotourism. LO12. Plan and carry out theoretical and applied research, draw reasonable conclusions, analyze and present research results. LO14. Formulate scientific hypotheses, determine relevant aspects in fundamental and applied areas of research, develop and manage projects in the field of geography, in particular geomorphology and paleogeography.
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the peculiarities of the genesis of various types of relief, the patterns of manifestation of the geological structure of the territory in the relief, the peculiarities of the development of the relief at the neotectonic stage, the main types of folded and discontinuous structures; 2. The ability to determine the main forms of relief and their elements on a topographic map, to analyze cartographic materials of geological and geomorphological content, to decipher the contours of natural and man-made objects on the MAKZ. 3. Possess elementary skills of contrast-analog and landscape-indication decoding, mapping of selected objects, GIS technologies
Course content
Within the framework of this discipline, the theoretical and methodological principles of lineament analysis are considered as an independent direction of research into the organization of the structure of the earth's crust. The course consists of two parts. The first is devoted to the study of the history of the development of the ideas of lineament analysis, such theoretical issues as classification, structure, properties, origin of lineaments, methods of their selection. The second is the use of the possibilities of lineament analysis in morphostructural studies of the relief, such as the selection, study and mapping of morphostructures of various types and ranks.
