Learning outcomes
PRN 7. Analyze, compare and classify different directions and schools in folklore studies. PRN 11. Carry out a scientific analysis of folklore material, interpret and structure it taking into account classical and modern methodological principles, formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PRN 16. Use specialized conceptual knowledge of folkloristics to solve complex problems and problems that require updating and integration of knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the course, master's students should have basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature, know the main analytical techniques of theoretical folkloristics, an arsenal of concepts and terms, "subject fields", problems and research perspectives of modern folkloristics.
To be able to independently carry out scientific research work in folklore studies, to determine the specifics of folklore elements in stage-typological and ethnocultural dimensions, the mechanisms of the functioning of the folklore tradition as a means of communication, to independently conduct scientific research work in folklore studies, adapting priority concepts, theories and methods of analysis of the researched material.
To have the method of comparative folkloristic analysis; elementary skills of using the terminological apparatus of modern humanities for conducting scientific and research work corresponding to the second (master's) level.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to provide an objective view of new "scientific paradigms", "anthropologising" folklore, objects and methods of folkloristics and to extend them to comparative folkloristic discourse.
Abstract. The educational discipline is aimed at forming students' professional skills of interdisciplinary research of folklore text. Its subject is a comprehensive study of current problems related to the syncretic nature of oral traditions, pre-textual forms, intertextual and contextual connections. The task of the discipline: to acquire basic knowledge and master the skills of independent in-depth analysis of various folklore phenomena.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course is "Anthropologization" of folklore and new angles of analysis of oral traditions. The second part of the course is "Folklore as a collection of "cultural texts": a comparative dimension." Forms of education: lectures, seminars, scientific seminar, independent work. Throughout the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, which are evaluated according to the types of work (oral answer, supplement, report at a scientific seminar, blitz survey, participation in discussions at lectures and seminar classes, intermediate control test, credit) . A scientific seminar is held no later than the last lecture week, at which students present an independently prepared scientific report on one of the topical problems of comparative folkloristics.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) - 40% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility - 60% of the overall assessment .
Assessment of the semester work: oral answer, additions, participation in the discussion during the lecture, creative and research tasks: scientific (popular science article, review, digest), report - 48/80 p. Among them: oral answer, additions, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars, blitz survey, intermediate control test: 36/56 p.Scientific seminar presentation of a scientific report: 12/24 b. The discipline ends with a written assessment on 12/20 b.
