Prerequisites and co-requisites
Master's students must possess basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature, know modern views on the specifics of folklore; the main problems of modern humanities (cognitology, cultural studies, folkloristics, cognitive linguistics) are related to the formation of the mental-linguistic phenomenon of the conceptual system and concepts related to it, which form the basis of the systematic study of the conceptual sphere of folklore.
Be able to independently carry out scientific and research work on folkloristics, adapting priority concepts, theories and methods of observation, generalization and comprehensive analysis of the researched material; to organize the process of search, reconstruction and preservation of traditional cultural heritage.
To have the method of conceptual representation of folklore text; elementary skills of using the terminological apparatus of modern humanities for conducting scientific and research work corresponding to the second (master's) level.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to provide a theoretical synthesis of the ideas of modern humanitarianism on the issue of studying the conceptual system of folklore text with the further development of methodological approaches to the study of the cognitive space of Ukrainian traditional culture.
Abstract. The educational discipline is aimed at getting acquainted with theoretical problems related to the theory and practice of defining the concept of "[ethno]concept system", systematicity, content and structural units of this phenomenon as an ordered set of mental units. Its subject is the development on the basis of scientific sources of effective approaches, criteria for understanding and interpreting discursive configurations of folklore concepts. The task of the discipline: to develop the skills of independent in-depth analysis of a folklore product for the effective organization of scientific and educational activities and branch translation of folk literature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course includes 2 content parts. The first part of the course is "Concept. The nature and functions of the concept". The second part of the course is "Conceptual system of Ukrainian folklore". Forms of education: lectures, seminars, scientific seminar, independent work. Throughout the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, which are evaluated according to the types of work (oral answer, supplement, report at a scientific seminar, blitz survey, participation in discussions at lectures and seminar classes, intermediate control test, credit) . A scientific seminar is held no later than the last lecture week, at which students present an independently prepared scientific report on one of the topical problems of modern folkloristics.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the learned material, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge) - 40% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility - 60% of the overall assessment .
Assessment of the semester work: oral answer, additions, participation in the discussion during the lecture, creative and research tasks: scientific (popular science article, review, digest), report - 48/80 p. Of them:oral answer, additions, participation in discussions at lectures and seminars, blitz survey, intermediate control test: 36/56 p. Scientific seminar presentation of a scientific report: 12/24 b. The discipline ends with a written assessment on 12/20 b.
