Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the state and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the state and foreign languages. PLO 10. To demonstrate in-depth knowledge of folklore studies, intercultural communication and the foreign language. PLO 14. To create, analyze and edit texts of various styles and genres in scientific folkloristic discourse. PLO 19.2. Apply knowledge of the theory of industry translation, solve problems related to the analysis of folklore material. PLO 20.2. Use communicative strategies in communicating with participants in the translation process

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to studying this course, students must have the necessary professional knowledge of the theory and methodology of translation studies, methodological tools for analyzing literary texts. Be able to work with educational and scientific information in the field of translation studies, process it, make generalizations and conclusions; create translated texts of various styles and genres; apply skills in working with IT gadgets to create texts of various formats. Possess basic skills of translational analysis of texts from the standpoint of discourse analysis: identify the type of discourse to which the text belongs; identify keywords and components of the "strong" positions of the text using dictionaries, the Internet, reference books and encyclopedias.
Course content
The purpose of thе discipline is to systematize and consolidate the theoretical knowledge of the principles of modern methods of analyzing texts belonging to different types of discourse, based on the latest achievements of domestic and foreign translation studies, discourse studies, text linguistics, which students have acquired in the course of studying the disciplines of professional specialized training of masters in Folklore Studies in the elective block "Theory and Practice of Folk Literature Translation"; to develop the ability of masters to independently translate and edit texts; substantiate their own views on complex issues of translation studies, and take a responsible approach to the study of scientific literature.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The internship consists of several stages: I. introductory - orientation conference (agreeing on the order of work, familiarization with agreements on practice sites, providing master students with a package of necessary documentation and methodological support for the internship; II. preparatory - familiarization with the work of the practice site, familiarization with the program and tasks of the internship; drawing up an individual plan of internship and its approval by the supervisor; III. production - implementation of the program (selection of materials for professional literary translation of texts of various genre categories). Final - approbation (presentation of the results of translation activities). Forms of study: consultations with the supervisor, independent work, seminar-defense of the work performed.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of student's independent work - 20% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training - results (skills, communication, autonomy and responsibility) - 80% of the total grade. Evaluation of work and individual tasks: creative and research tasks (translation of literary texts of different genres and varying complexity, presentation of translation) - 60/100 b. The course ends with a differentiated test.
