Prerequisites and co-requisites
General theoretical training obtained within the framework of bachelor's educational programs. Before starting this course, master's students should know: basic methods of linguistic research according to the basic level of undergraduate graduates. Be able to explain the specifics of the main general scientific and highly specialized linguistic research methods provided for in the undergraduate course. Possess elementary skills to organize and carry out independent scientific research, observing the requirements of preserving intellectual property.
Course content
Purpose of discipline – to provide students with knowledge and skills that create the necessary organizational and legal basis for carrying out professional research work, its presentation to the scientific community, protection and commercialization of intellectual property rights to its results; formation of students' skills to solve various research tasks, build a research search system, navigate in the directions of modern philological studies, and use various research methods; formation of the appropriate level of theoretical training of students for further research within the framework of the master's thesis.
Annotation. The discipline consists of three substantive parts: "Theoretical foundations of philological research", "Methodology of scientific research", "Fundamentals of intellectual property", each of which forms students' basic knowledge in the specified areas.

Auditory work: oral report at the seminar, additions, participation in discussions, independent work, final control work, final evaluation of the discipline
Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of works and the form of the counter. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work during the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who have scored the minimum positive number of points - 60, receive - "credited", those who have not scored the minimum positive number of points, receive - "failed", those who have scored a total of less than 60 p. for the semester, to compile the assessment, it is necessary to compile material by topic, for which the debt arose, (independent works, essays), if necessary, write a СР.
The course includes three content parts. Assessment of theoretical knowledge and skills takes place systematically, throughout the semester, in accordance with the thematic lesson plan. At the end of the first and third parts, CT are conducted with theoretical and practical tasks.
