Learning outcomes
PLO 13. To explain the essence of specific linguistic issues and one’s own point of view and its justification to the experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, in particular to individuals who are studying. PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles. PLO 21. To translate (orally and in writing) texts of different genres and styles from Ukrainian into the native language and vice versa (according to the selective block "Practical translation for those who study Ukrainian as a foreign language").

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the first and second semesters of the master's program. Ability to use the Ukrainian language freely, flexibly and effectively in oral and written form, in various genre-style varieties and registers of communication.
Course content
The aim of the course is to guide students in deepening and systematizing their knowledge of Ukrainian grammar and comparative grammar of the student's native language and Ukrainian for high-quality translation. The course introduces students to the main types of grammatical substitutions and transformations in translations of various types and the basic methods of editing the translation text from the grammatical point of view as an important stage of translation and editing work. The course deals with the reproduction of perfect and imperfect verbs, adjectives and adverbs, main clauses, one-part sentences, complex sentences, and compound sentences in the native language of the student, etc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study - lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: explanation of new material, conversation, analysis of grammatical features of the text, comparison of grammatical structures of the Ukrainian language and the student's native language, collective analysis of the quality of the translation, collective editing of the translation, preparation of an essay and a project.
Assessment methods and criteria
