Apply professional knowledge; formulate ideas, concepts for use in academic or professional work. Find solutions in professional activities, have sufficient competence in the methods of independent research, be able to interpret their results. Possess and apply knowledge and skills in general and professional training in solving specialized tasks. Assess the impact of the environment, socio-economic and biological determinants on the health of the individual, family, population. Identify, summarize and solve problems that arise in the process of professional activity and form a sense of responsibility for the work performed. Coordinate, modify and combine different research methods in order to perform typical and atypical professional tasks. Solve scientific-theoretical, research and applied problems in the field of health care by appropriate methods.

Successful mastering of scientific-theoretical and practical material of the discipline "Social Medicine" involves integration with the disciplines: methodology of scientific work, evidence-based medicine and standards of laboratory research, quality management system of laboratory research, information technology in medicine, civilization, pedagogy and teaching. When studying the discipline, students should prepare for practical classes and perform the full range of practical tasks and tasks for independent work, provided by the thematic plan and set by the teacher. The study of the discipline ends with a test, so in the process of studying various topics the student should pay attention to the issues submitted for final control.

The discipline "Social Medicine" includes information on the content and importance of the science of social medicine, health and reproduction of the population, medical statistics and the use of its methods and tools in social medicine, the organization of medical care in our country. The subject of study of the discipline are: methods of medical statistics (biostatistics), the organization of medical care to the population in Ukraine, the state of health of the population and indicators that characterize it.
