PRN 2. Effectively work with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PRN 3. To organize the process of one's education and self-education. PRN 14. To use Polish, English and Lithuanian languages orally and in writing, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres life. PRN 22.2. To know the culturally determined factors that shape the relationship between communicators in the conditions of various communicative situations for adequate reproduction in translation from Polish and Lithuanian languages. PRN 23.2. Apply knowledge from the field of Balto-Slavic linguistic and cultural continuum in the practice of translation.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the course involves mastering the material of the disciplines "Polish Folklore", "Introduction to Slavic Philology", "Linguistic and Cultural Studies of Poland", mastering general linguistic terminology and terminology; knowledge of the basics of vocabulary and grammar of the Polish and Lithuanian languages; the ability to analyze the phenomena of linguistic and cultural interference; mastering the skills of establishing cause-and-effect relationships between historical events and analyzing their impact on linguistic and cultural development.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is the formation of ideas about the ethnolinguistic kinship of the Slavic and Baltic peoples, their ancient and modern connections; through the prism of linguistic facts to learn folklore-literary, ethnographic and cultural-historical contacts of Slavs and Balts. Within the discipline, students consider the kinship of Slavic and Baltic peoples through the prism of literary silhouettes, peculiarities of languages (phonological, morphological and syntactic characteristics, vocabulary, phraseology and onomastics) and dialects, geolinguistic and historical data, ethnography and folklore. The question of the Baltic-Slavic language unity is considered, and based on this knowledge, an idea is formed about the connection between the Baltic and Slavic languages, the spiritual and material cultures of the Balts and Slavs, their folk art, etc. Familiarization with the peculiarities of different periods of the history of the linguistic and cultural continuum of the Balts and Slavs.

Lectures, practical classes, creative and research tasks, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The form of final control is final test. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student during the semester. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral answers, tests) and for independent work. During the semester, a student can receive a maximum of 80 points, 20 points on the test; the maximum score is 100 points.
