PLO 2. Effectively work with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, arrange, classify and systematize it.. Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know orthographic, orthoepic, grammatical, lexical and stylistic norms of literary Polish, English and Lithuanian languages; master the basics of Polish and English grammar and syntax. The student must be able to apply linguistic tools in practice; have basic skills in the selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts; students should know the basic concepts of linguistics, translation studies, stylistics Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian languages languages, methods of linguistic, stylistic and translation analysis of language material; the peculiarities of creating and using terms of different terminology systems of the Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian languages and Ukrainian languages.The students will also be able to determine the genre and style of the text to be translated; apply the knowledge of translation principles in practice; work with lexicographic sources create oral and written texts in the state languages.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to improve practical skills in translation and interpretation from Polish into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Polish of media, popular science and official discourses, taking into account the communicative, linguistic and cognitive features of different types of translation. The course is taught in the form of practical classes and independent work. The course ends with a test.

Learning activities during the semester: Oral answers in practical classes (translation tasks); Preparation and oral compilation of individual thematic translator's glossaries; intermediate control - translation of texts
Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum number of points during the semester is 60 points. In particular, semester assessment by forms of control:. Answer at a practical classe (consecutive interpretation, sight translation) - max. 30 points 2. Preparation and oral presentation of individual thematic translator's glossaries - max. 10 points Module test.
