PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state, Polish, English and Lithuanian languages orally and in writing, use PLO 14. Use Polish, English and Lithuanian languages orally and in writing, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication ( official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. to use them for the organization of effective intercultural communication. Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must know the basic concepts of translation studies, the main facts and personalities of the literary process in European countries in the historical context, the peculiarities of the historical development of a foreign language, the basics of the history of world culture and the history of religions; to be able to apply translation studies and encyclopedic knowledge in practice; to have basic skills of understanding, analysis, systematization and memorization of information from humanitarian knowledge.
Course content
At the lectures, students get acquainted with the history and main directions of modern translation studies in Ukraine, Poland and the world, aimed at identifying typical methods and techniques of translation, "universals" of translation, regularities of the translation process, criteria for evaluating the quality of translation, ways to optimize the methodology of teaching translation, and also with the specifics of translation techniques and methods of oral and written translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Training takes place in the form of interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students' independent work involves preparation for the following types of activities: answers to seminar classes, reports with analysis of scientific literature, translation tasks.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: the maximum number of points during the semester is 80 points: tasks performed in the process of independent work and a summary of lectures - max. 10 points answers in practical classes - max 30 points; Preparation and design of the essay - max 10 points; Speech on the topic of the essay - max 10 points; Final test - max 20 points. The minimum number of points per semester is 48. Final assessment in the form of credit - min 12/ max 20 points.
