PLO 1. Understand the specifics and peculiarities of the implementation of cultural ideas, images and meanings, as well as critically evaluate the possibilities of their interpretation for solving socially significant problems. PLO 2. Analyze textual and visual sources of information on cultural phenomena and processes, verify information in accordance with professional tasks. PLO 7. Evaluate historical achievements and the latest achievements of cultural studies. PLO 12. Collect, analyze and evaluate empirical evidence and interpret it in accordance with modern theoretical concepts of the relevant field of cultural studies. PLO 16.1. Skillfully apply the methodology of intertextuality and modern reconstructive techniques both in the field of cultural anthropology and in the interdisciplinary aspect.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before taking this course, students should know the semantic meaning of ritual practices, the functional load of calendar and family initiatory rites. Be able to analyze the symbolic meaning of rituals, identify related cultural practices, determine the periods of formation of certain elements of the tradition. Possess basic skills of scientific research, comparative method, critical thinking and determine the basis of cultural ideas, unified parts of the tradition.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to develop students' knowledge of the deep codes of traditional ethnic culture, the semantics of rituals, mythological representations and mythological thinking, as well as its impact on the modern cultural process. Annotation. The discipline "Hermeneutics of Ethnic Culture" belongs to the list of compulsory disciplines and is taught in the first or second semester of the master's program - in accordance with the curriculum of a specific philological educational program. The course "Hermeneutics of Ethnoculture" studies the semantic codes of ethnocultural traditions, the emergence, transformation, and manifestation of mythological ideas. The development of the theoretical content of the course is aimed at studying the process of transformation of traditional rites and rituals, their genetic connection, and the study of the conditions of functioning of folklore symbols in modern socio-communicative realities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course has 3 content parts. The first part of the course is devoted to urban culture as a culture of the globalization era. The second part of the course focuses on the relationship between urban and traditional culture. Classes are held in the form of lectures, seminars, and interactive teaching methods. All learning outcomes are assessed during lectures and seminars throughout the semester. Students submit a creative assignment at the end of the last lecture week. The course ends with a test.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. For students who scored a total of less than the critical minimum of 60 points, in order to receive credit, it is necessary to complete the missed topics in writing and submit/send by e-mail to the teacher conducting the seminar classes. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final test (minimum 12, maximum 20 points).
