The professional qualification is awarded on the condition of: 1) successful defense of the master's thesis (not less than 80 points); 2) successful completion of internship (at least 80 points); 3) successful completion of a comprehensive final exam in Swedish philology and translation (not lower than 80 points) or a success score in individual academic disciplines not lower than 80 points; 4) an average success score of not less than 75 points (for more details, see the description of item 3).

PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization). PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles. PLO 15. To choose optimal research approaches and methods of analysis for the specific language and literary material. PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen linguistic field to solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and contradictory requirements. PLO 17. To plan, organize, perform and present research and / or innovative developments in a specific linguistic field. Full-time form

Examinations (written, oral, mixed form, pass-fail), grading tests, presentations, abstracts, reports, certification (final) examination, defence of internship report, defence of qualification (master’s) paper. Scale of grades (examination): 90-100 – excellent; 75-89 – good; 60-74 – satisfactory; 35-59 - unsatisfactory. Scale of grades (pass-fail examination): 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed. Members of the university community rely on the following principles in their activities: - objectivity in the evaluation of students' knowledge, in research work, aсademic and organizational activities related to the awarding of academic degrees; - self-respect and respect for human dignity; - promoting academic integrity in teaching, learning, and research; - copyright and intellectual property rights compliance; - inadmissibility of plagiarism in any form; - openness of research results.

The study involves the mandatory completion of research internship in the Swedish language.

Master of Philology (translation included) can work in academic institutions, publishing houses, educational establishments; in mass-media; in PR-agencies; in various foundations, unions, humanitarian organisations, museums, art and cultural centres, etc.; in various sectors that need translation services and the creation, analysis, evaluation of texts, and provision of services of linguistic and translation expertise.

Graduates have the right to continue their studies at the third level of higher education and obtain additional qualifications in the postgraduate education system.
