Learning outcomes
PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication. PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify different trends and schools in Linguistics. PLO 8. To assess the historical legacy and new achievements of Literature Studies.  PLO 9. To characterize theoretical principles (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the chosen linguistic specialization. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language and literature, to interpret and translate texts of various styles and genres (depending on the chosen specialization).

Course content
The program of the comprehensive final exam in Swedish philology and translation by educational and qualification level "Master's" is designed for students graduating from the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv in full-time form training, and aims at monitoring and evaluating the knowledge and skills acquired during time of study at the master's degree (four semesters). The exam is an integral part of the final stage of master's training in specialty 035 "Philology", namely the final form of monitoring and assessment of scientific, theoretical and practical training of students. The comprehensive final exam in Swedish philology and translation aims to evaluate the level of proficiency practical skills in the use of the Swedish language, which compose communicative competence of master's students acquired in the course of education, the knowledge of the theoretical foundations of different linguistic fields, as well as mastering a set of modern methods and approaches to language learning. Such a goal determined the structure of the examination, which covers four tasks: 1. A theoretical question on the theory of literature. 2. Theoretical question from linguistic and translation disciplines. 3. Pragmatic and communicative text analysis (up to 2000 characters). 4. Written translation of the text of the Swedish-language article (excerpt) into Ukrainian (up to 1000 characters).

Assessment methods and criteria
The evaluation takes place on a national (5-point) and 100-point scale. Each task of the exam is evaluated at a maximum of 25 points. The evaluation criteria for each exam task are given in the exam program.
