Programme learning outcomes
PLO 1. To assess individual academic and scientific-professional activity, to build and implement an effective strategy of self-development and professional self-improvement. PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of national and foreign language (French, English) mastery to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and scientific communication; to present the results of their studies in the national and foreign language (French, English). PLO 3. To implement the modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of scientific research in the field of translation. PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically the vital social, individual and professional issues and offer tactics of their solution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 5. To find optimal ways of effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels. PLO 6. To use knowledge on expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques in order to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize a successful communication. PLO 7. To analyze, compare and classify various schools and approaches of Translation Studies. PLO 8. To assess the historical legacy and new achievements of Linguistic Science. PLO 9. To characterize theoretical (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) principles and practical aspects of a specific linguistic specialization. PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic and literary facts, interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres. PLO 11. To perform a scholarly analysis of linguistic, speech and literary material, interpret and structure it considering classical and new methodological principles, formulate summarizations based on the individually processed data. Examination regulations and grading scale
Exams (written, oral, mixed form), tests, differentiated tests, current control, final exams. The defense of the qualifying master's thesis takes place in the form of a speech (presentation) and discussion with the participation of teachers and fellow students. The specific rules of the examination are set out in the work programs of the academic disciplines. The main principles of the evaluation policy are regulated by the "Regulations on the organization of the educational process in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv". In order to maintain academic integrity, the participants of the educational process are guided by the norms of the "Ethical Code of the University Community". The final evaluation of the results of training under the programme is carried out on a single 100-point scale.

Work placement
Production translation practice separated from theoretical training is conducted to familiarize with the functioning of the translation service in departments, organizations, publishing houses and other institutions (state and private forms of ownership); acquisition of translation documentation preparation skills. During practice, master's students must acquire professional skills and abilities to independently solve tasks related to the process of oral or written translation. They must perform a written translation from French into Ukrainian in the amount of 20 pages of A4 format or at least 3 hours for oral translation. In addition, the plan of translation practice may include the task of abstracting and annotating texts in both Ukrainian and French languages. During the translation practice, the master must compile a professional glossary based on the translated texts in the amount of 200 units.
