Prerequisites and co-requisites
It is desirable (but not critical) for applicants to know the modern concepts of physics and biology regarding the structure of the universe, the connections of living and non-living matter, through prior mastery of the course "Scientific image of the world" or self-education.
Course content
The purpose of the course is to develop the students' ability to ensure ecologically balanced professional activity, as well as to carry out ecological assessment of innovations in the field of their professional activity, to promote the development of ecological culture in everyday professional and social activities. The discipline contributes to the student's ability to preserve and multiply moral, cultural, scientific values and achievements of society on the basis of understanding the history and regularities of development of the subject area, its place in the general system of knowledge about nature and society and in the development of society, equipment and technologies, use different types and forms of activity for active recreation and leading a healthy lifestyle. In addition, when mastering this course, a student can partially assess the level of formation of such competencies as: the ability to act on the basis of ethical considerations (motives); the ability to realize one's rights and responsibilities as a member of society, to be aware of the values of a civil (free democratic) society, the rule of law, the rights and freedoms of a person and a citizen in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The credit is issued on the results of two module tests. A necessary condition for receiving a positive grade is the acquisition of 60 points for the semester, while at least 25 points must be obtained for each of the control papers.
