Learning outcomes
The formation of students' abilities to systematically and historically analyze the general and special in the socio-political, economic, cultural and spiritual development of the civilizations of the Ancient East, the development of the skills of a comparative vision of cultural processes in the chronological framework of ancient history, the development of a tolerant and objective attitude towards different peoples, cultures, religious teachings, an objective vision of the diversity of socio-cultural systems, methods of studying scientific literature and source publications on the discipline. The student should know the causes and consequences of historical events and phenomena in the Ancient East. The student must be able to evaluate the events in the history of the Ancient East, make generalizations and express independent conclusions on certain problems of the history of ancient civilizations.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the chronology and periodization of the events of the Ancient East, the main facts of the social and political development of ancient Eastern civilizations. 2. To be able to critically analyze the reports of sources, to analyze various phenomena of the socio-economic, political, ethno-religious and cultural life of the peoples of Eastern Asia, North Africa, Iran, Ancient India and Ancient China. 3. Possess elementary skills of logical and critical thinking, independent assessment and interpretation of historical processes and facts, independent search of sources and scientific literature.
Course content
The content of the course is formed into one content module, which consists of seminar (practical) classes and independent work and modular tests.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points received from all topics of two content modules (points received for modular control papers (in the form of tests); points received for completing individual tasks; points received for work in seminar classes, as well as points which are received for the final control work. The results of students' educational activities are evaluated on a 100-point scale. The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are: • complete disclosure of the issue • the logic of presentation • use of basic and additional literature • analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions
