Know the basic properties of excitatory structures and understand the physiological role of rest and action potential in nerve and muscle fibers for the functioning of the human body, mechanisms of synaptic transmission in neuromuscular synapse and CNS, the role of neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, mechanisms of nervous and humoral regulation of physiological functions and homeostasis and the role of sensory systems in such reactions, mechanisms of higher nervous activity and explain the physiological basis for the formation of conditioned reflexes; evaluate the basic cognitive functions. Ability to analyze the principles of reflex coordination while ensuring the body's adaptive responses: schematically draw different reflex arcs; ability to analyze regulated parameters and maintenance of homeostasis. To provide professional scientific discussion on physiology; demonstrate skills of written explanation and presentation of own research results.
