Learning outcomes
PR2. Use libraries, information databases, Internet resources to search for the necessary information. PR6. Analyze biological phenomena and processes at the molecular, cellular, organismal, population-species and biosphere levels in terms of basic general scientific knowledge, as well as using special modern research methods. PR15. Be able to independently plan and perform an innovative task and formulate conclusions based on its results. PR40. Be able to summarize various experimental data and substantiate the thesis about unity of the human and animal organism as a whole with their environment on the basis of knowledge about the structure and mechanisms of functioning various organs and systems of the body based on in-depth knowledge of the disciplines of vocational training.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Have knowledge of the general principles of functioning of living organisms at different levels of the organization. 2. Be able to theoretically justify the need to maintain homeostasis as the basis for the existence of living things. 3. Know the macro- and microstructural organization of human and animal systems. 4. Have the skills of practical work in a scientific laboratory, be able to process and present the results of experiments and surveys.
Course content
The basis of the discipline "Physiology of ontogenesis" is the consideration of mechanisms and leading factors in the development of physiological functions during ontogenesis. In particular, the development of the organism at different stages of ontogenesis, age features of organ systems, critical stages of human and animal ontogenesis, mechanisms of aging and longevity are covered in detail. The regularity of the origin of language, self-consciousness and consciousness as a special mechanism for regulating human behavior in the social environment is substantiated. The issues of functional reactions of organs in the norm and in conditions of violation of their activities are considered.
