Prerequisites and co-requisites
The program is designed for students who have studied the introduction to translation studies, translation theory, history of translation, practical German language course, practice of interpretation and translation, etc., know the main categories of translation and general principles of translation, theoretical foundations of translation studies, linguistics, philology and modern paradigms of contemporary Ukrainian language; speak German at the B1 / B2 level and Ukrainian at the C2 level, know translation analysis techniques and translation skills.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to promote the formation of practical skills and abilities of literary translation from German into higher education; to acquaint them with the peculiarities of the translation of German-language lyrical, prose and dramatic works, taking into account the genus-species specifics, individual style of the author and the specifics of the Austrian and Swiss versions of modern German literary language; to improve the level of German language proficiency; to improve the skills of literary translation analysis, which is important for the training of highly qualified translators, editors and managers of literary translation projects. The training lasts for 1 and 2 semesters, is conducted in the form of practical classes and independent work of students. The discipline ends with an exam at the end of the 1st and 2nd semesters.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: oral answer in practical classes, conducting a terminological glossary, performing literary translation, educational project. Teaching methods: practical classes, independent work, written translations, presentation, discussion.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final grade for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the current and final control. Forms of current control include answers to practical classes (max 20 / min 12 points), preparation of an individual project (max 10 / min 6 points), conducting a glossary of terminology (max 6 / min 4 points) and performing literary translation (max 24 / min 14) points). In total, the forms of current control during the semester are max 60 / min 36 points. To be admitted to the exam you must score a minimum of 36 points. Form of final control - exam. Exam score - max 40 / min 24 points. To receive a positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam must be at least 24 points.
