Learning outcomes
To know the essence of international portfolio investments, the IMF methodology for their identification. To know the economic content of international investment management, the main stages of the international investment process. To know the features and specifics of international investment activities and its differences from investment activities in local markets. To know the hypothesis of market efficiency and the main directions of its impact on international investment strategies. To know the basic principles of forming effective and optimal portfolios, the methodology for determining their risk and return. To know the basic models for estimating expected returns, the main differences between local market models and international models. To know the advantages and disadvantages of international diversification of investment portfolios, the main ways to increase its efficiency.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) Knowledge of the fundmentals of international finance. 2) Knowledge of the main instruments of the international financial market. 3) Skills of working with electronic databases. 4) Ability to perform simple data operations in the Microsoft Excel.
Course content
Part I. Theoretical fundamentals of international investment management Introduction to the course. International investment management and investment process. Market efficiency hypothesis. Portfolio theory. Capital Asset Pricing Model. Arbitrage pricing theory. Part II international diversification of investment portfolios The essence, advantages and disadvantages of international diversification of investment portfolios. International diversification: empirical testing.
